Encierro


Talking about prisons, I can't forget the moment I read the short story "The Pit and the Pendulum". Written by american romantic writer Edgar Allan Poe.
 It tells the process of torture which the main character passes. Judged by the Spanish Inquisition, he is prisoned in a complete dark room. All his thoughts and desperate actions to escape are descriptively told. A fantastic story everyone should read.
I consider this one of the most terrifying tales ever. A true horror story involving human senses in extreme situations. It has a surprising ending and an original one in comparison to other short stories by this author.
