Encierro

I dare saying one of the best films staring Sean Penn is definitely "Dead Man Walking".
It stars him as a criminal who is sentenced to death for a murderer he might not committed. Susan Sarandon plays a nun (role that gave her the Oscar for best actress) that meets this criminal in prison. The nun as a service will try to "save" and prepare the criminal for his death, but the connection between them will become into an experience of  true of love and compassion. The last days and hours of this man in prison, helps imagining the complexity in criminal cases, a reflection of punishment and the value of human life, and leaves us with a deep portrait of both characters.
The movie deals with themes of forgiveness, death penalty, and religion. A real masterpiece, not contradictory to school values.
Very strong movie which I recommend to all.
Directed by Susan Sarandon's husband, Tim Robbins who acts in many famous movies like "Tenacious D", "Mystic River", "High Fidelity", "The Shawshank Redemption", "Top Gun", etc. I consider him a talented not entirely commercial actor. Working as a director, this is the only film I know.
Music by Bruce Springteen.
